Project Manager – Federal Government ICT

? Location: Canberra, ACT – Full-time onsite initially, then hybrid subject to approval

About the Opportunity

Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager for a long-term labour hire opportunity with a Federal Government department in Canberra.

The successful contractor will support the delivery of an End User Refresh initiative, working across ICT technical delivery teams, service providers, project leads and senior business stakeholders.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced Project Manager with a solid background in ICT infrastructure projects, together with demonstrated capability across project delivery, financial management, organisational change, requirements management and stakeholder engagement.

The successful contractor will be required to work full-time onsite in Canberra for the initial three months, or until sufficiently familiar with the ICT landscape, requirements and project objectives. Flexible working arrangements may subsequently be considered, with a minimum requirement of three days per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resourcing, risks, issues and dependencies
- Coordinate project activities across technical teams and service providers
- Develop and maintain project plans, governance, reporting and communication frameworks
- Manage project budgets, expenditure and cost forecasts
- Lead risk, issue and change-control activities
- Engage effectively with business stakeholders, sponsors, technical teams, vendors and end users
- Facilitate workshops,



meetings and decision-making forums
- Manage requirements definition, prioritisation and traceability
- Support organisational change and business readiness activities
- Monitor project milestones, deliverables and dependencies
- Oversee testing, user acceptance, implementation and deployment activities
- Prepare high-quality project documentation and status reporting
- Support project assurance, controls and compliance activities
- Transfer skills and knowledge to departmental personnel

Skills & Experience Required

- Extensive experience managing ICT infrastructure projects
- Strong project management experience within complex ICT environments
- Demonstrated financial management, budgeting and forecasting capability
- Demonstrated organisational change management experience
- Strong requirements definition and management capability
- Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills
- Experience coordinating technical teams, vendors and service providers
- Strong project governance, risk, issue and change management experience
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall and/or Hybrid project delivery methodologies
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Experience within ICT Service Management (ITSM) environments
- Federal Government ICT experience will be highly regarded
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM and/or ITIL will be highly regarded
