About The Role

Jara is a 30-bed Older Persons Mental Health inpatient unit located at Concord Centre for Mental Health. We provide specialised assessment, treatment and recovery-focused care for older people experiencing acute mental illness, alongside the complexities of ageing, physical health conditions, and cognitive changes.

Our team is committed to delivering safe, compassionate, and person-centred care that recognises the unique strengths, life experiences, and goals of every consumer.

We are seeking skilled and motivated Registered Nurses who are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of older people. Applications are encouraged from nurses with experience in Mental Health Nursing, as well as Older Persons Mental Health, Dementia Care, Rehabilitation, Acute Care, Gerontology, and Aged Care.

As a member of the Jara team, you will work within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment that values recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and evidence-based practice. Nurses play a vital role in partnering with consumers, carers, families and colleagues to promote recovery, maintain dignity, support independence and address both mental and physical health needs through holistic care.

Ideal Candidate

- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share skilled expertise with colleagues.
