Responsibilities

Define and implement automation and quality engineering strategy aligned with product requirements.

Design, develop, maintain, and optimise scalable automation frameworks using Playwright TypeScript and/or Selenium Java/C#.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Architects to understand requirements and define test coverage.

Create and maintain BDD feature files, test scenarios, and automation suites.

Execute automated and manual testing activities across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end journeys.

Analyse test results, identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and provide quality insights.

Drive test automation adoption and continuous improvement across teams.

Ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC through automation, CI/CD integration, and shift-left practices.

Participate in code reviews, framework improvements, and engineering communities of practice.

Support release planning, test estimation, risk assessments,



and production validation activities.

Key Skills & Experience

UI Test Automation

Playwright (Primary Framework)

Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript.

Proven experience designing scalable and maintainable automation frameworks using the Page Object Model design pattern.

Experience implementing reusable page objects, fixtures, helper classes, test utilities, and component-based automation architecture.

Proficient in web, API, and end-to-end test automation.

Experience integrating Playwright automation into Azure DevOps or other CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of Playwright capabilities including:

Auto-waiting and smart locators

Cross-browser testing (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit)

Parallel execution and test sharding

Playwright locator strategies, including role-based, text-based, test-id, CSS, and XPath locators

Network mocking and API interception

Visual regression testing

Trace Viewer, reporting, and debugging

Good to have Selenium (Java/C#)

Strong experience in developing UI automation solutions using Selenium WebDriver with Java or C#.

Proficient in identifying web elements using XPath, CSS Selectors, ID, Name, and other locator strategies.

Experience executing cross-browser and responsive testing.

Valuable understanding of TestNG/JUnit or NUnit frameworks

Experience implementing maintainable automation frameworks using Page Object Model and data-driven approaches.

API Testing

Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and HTTP protocols.

Experience designing and automating API tests using any of the below:

Playwright API Testing

RestAssured (Java) or RestSharp (C#)
