At B&W; Engineering, we are shaping the future of infrastructure, design, and engineering through innovation and digital delivery. As our Senior BIM Specialist based in Australia, you will be the hands-on technical lead for Building Information Modelling on our Australian projects—producing and coordinating high-quality building services models, upholding our digital standards, and supporting project teams from design through to handover.
Reporting to our Regional BIM Lead, you will be the local BIM point of contact for Australian project teams, clients, and partners, and a key contributor to consistent, best-in-class BIM practice across our APAC region.
Model Production & Coordination
- Develop, manage, and maintain MEP / building services models in Autodesk Revit to the level of information need defined for each project
- Lead multidisciplinary model federation and clash detection using Navisworks and/or ACC Model Coordination, tracking issues through to resolution
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and contractor models, and represent B&W; in project BIM coordination meetings
- Produce model-based deliverables including drawings, schedules, quantity take-offs, and coordination reports
Standards, Quality & Compliance
- Implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and respond to client EIRs in line with the regional BIM standards set by the Regional BIM Lead
- Carry out model audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with project BIM standards, AS ISO 19650, and relevant Australian guidelines
- Manage project information within the Common Data Environment (CDE), such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), including naming, permissions,
and issue workflows
- Maintain and improve Revit templates, families, and content libraries for Australian projects
Collaboration & Technical Support
- Act as the local BIM point of contact for Australian project teams, clients, and external partners
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to BIM Modellers, Technicians, and engineers in Australia
- Work closely with the Regional BIM Lead and BIM teams across APAC to share best practice and resources across regions and time zones
- Contribute to digital improvement initiatives such as automation (e.g., Dynamo), workflow enhancements, and adoption of recent tools
- Report BIM progress, coordination status, and risks to project managers and the Regional BIM Lead.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (Resources)
- Accountable for the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of BIM outputs on assigned Australian projects, and for compliance with project BIM requirements and regional standards.
- Accountable for day-to-day coordination and technical guidance of BIM modelling resources assigned to Australian projects.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT (minimum)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Candidates with a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant engineering or drafting discipline and substantial BIM / MEP experience will also be considered.
- Certification or formal training in Building Information Modelling (BIM) or Digital Engineering (preferred)
- Proficiency or certification in key BIM software tools such as Autodesk Revit (MEP) and Navisworks; Autodesk Certified Professional highly regarded
- Working knowledge of AS ISO 19650 and Australian BIM guidelines such as the NATSPEC National BIM Guide
- Membership or affiliation with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Engineers Australia, buildingSMART Australasia) is advantageous
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (minimum)
- Minimum 6–8 years of BIM experience within the built environment industry, including at least 3 years in a Senior BIM Modeller, BIM Coordinator, or BIM Specialist role.
- Strong hands-on Revit MEP modelling and Navisworks coordination skills
- Experience working within common data environments, preferably Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360
- Proven BIM delivery on large or complex multidisciplinary projects; data centre or mission-critical experience highly regarded
- Experience delivering projects in the Australian market and familiarity with local standards and practices
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Dynamo, pyRevit) is advantageous
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with a regional lead across locations and time zones
- Strong communication skills and a passion for digital engineering and continuous improvement
