Our Bringing Baby Home (BBH) program is expanding from Launceston to the Northwest, creating an exciting opportunity for a fulltime Bringing Baby Home Team Leader to join this specialised and rewarding program.
Bringing Baby Home is an up to three-month long residential parenting program that supports parent/s and their newborn to remain safely together. The program provides a supportive, family-focused environment where parents can build confidence, strengthen their parenting and care skills, and work towards safe and independent parenting.
As the Bringing Baby Home Team Leader, you will lead a team providing high-level quality care and support to parent/s and their baby, promoting a nurturing and trusting environment that is conducive to therapeutic growth and the development of capacity and emotional resilience. This position reports to the BBH Manager based in Launceston.
About the opportunity
As the BBH Team Leader, you will:
- Have experience in supporting parents and babies.
- Cultivate and strengthen positive parent-child relationships and help build parent capability.
- Provide supervision and support for the staff who support parent/s and baby within the BBH program to enable a safe setting for further assessment of family functioning and engagement of the parent with additional support services.
- Have solid administrative and written communication skills, including the ability to complete accurate, timely and comprehensive case reports and documentation.
- Hold a Certificate IV in Community Services or similar or working toward; OR lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience:
or attained through previous appointments, service and/or study.
- Hold a valid and current unrestricted Australian licence.
- Hold a current (less than 12 months old) Nationally Coordinated Criminal History check OR National Police check or ability to acquire.
- Possess a NDIS endorsed Working with Vulnerable People card or ability to acquire.
- Have an up-to-date Whooping Cough (Pertussis) Vaccination.
