Role Description These full-time hybrid roles for Senior Contracts & Procurement Professionals is based in the Brisbane's CBD, with flexibility for some work from home. The roles involve leading end-to-end contract and procurement activities across major projects, including developing procurement strategies, preparing tender documentation, evaluating bids, and negotiating commercial and contractual terms.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing variations and claims, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and organizational policies.
- Negotiate favourable contract terms, pricing and service level agreements.
- Streamline procurement processes and strategy to drive efficiency, reduce cost and minimise risk.
- Overseeing contract drafting and administration, monitoring supplier performance.
- Work closely with project teams, executive stakeholders, and delivery partners to provide commercial advice, manage risks, and support structured reporting and governance frameworks.
- Develop and manage project commercial strategy, providing contractual, financial and commercial advice.
- Manage the pre-contracting stage – estimating handover, drafting contract documents, insurances, allocation of responsibility.
- Prepare commercial reports required for tendering and management meetings.
- Oversee the reporting of project financials.
- Oversee contract variations and extension-of-time claims.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong analytical skills to assess commercial risks, interpret complex data, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree in law, commerce, engineering, business, or a related discipline.
- Possess expertise in Contract Management and Contractual Agreements, including drafting, administration, compliance oversight, and lifecycle management.
- Advanced Contract Negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, manage variations and claims, and resolve disputes effectively.
- Possess explicit and professional Communication skills, including stakeholder engagement, report writing, and presentation of commercial advice.
- Demonstrated experience in contracts and procurement within construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors, ideally on large, complex projects.
- Familiarity with public and private sector procurement frameworks, risk management practices, and major project delivery methodologies.
