Senior Estimator - Utility-Scale Renewable Energy

About the Employer

Our client is an infrastructure engineering and construction contractor delivering transport, civil and energy projects. Its teams work across design, construction and project delivery in Australia.

The Opportunity

Lead bottom-up estimating and technical pricing for major clean energy bids covering solar, wind, battery storage and HV connections. Corporate office options include Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with Sydney used for this listing.

Your Responsibilities

- Build resource-based labour, plant, material and subcontract cost models.
- Evaluate equipment quotations for PV modules, inverters, batteries, turbines and transformers.
- Translate tender drawings and technical inputs into work and cost breakdowns and bills of quantities.
- Issue trade-package requests, normalise quotations and identify scope gaps.
- Model risk, contingencies and escalation for executive bid reviews.

Requirements

Skills, Education and Requirements
- A degree in Electrical, Civil or Renewable Energy Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.




- At least seven years estimating with a Tier 1/2 contractor or EPC business on utility-scale renewable projects above $100 million.
- Advanced first-principles estimating software capability, such as Expert Estimation, Candy or Benchmark, and complex Excel cost modelling.
- Strong knowledge of solar balance of plant, battery systems, HV substation costs, equipment lead times and EPC/D&C; structures.
