The opportunity
This position is responsible for the delivery of quality and timely financial reporting of the IMDEX group, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IMDEX accounting policies. The role is also responsible for executing the consolidation and key accounting processes across the IMDEX group.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly Group consolidations, including consolidation adjustments and supporting audit trails.
- Manage intercompany transactions, balances and eliminations, working with regional finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Review regional tax-effect accounting submissions and support Group tax calculations, reconciliations and statutory disclosures.
- Maintain and administer the Group Delegation of Authority Matrix, coordinating reviews and recommending updates to support governance requirements.
- Support the preparation of half-year and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Group accounting policies.
- Assess the accounting implications of acquisitions, disposals, restructures and internal reorganisations, and prepare the related accounting entries.
- Coordinate day-to-day external audit activities and respond to audit requests throughout reporting cycles.
- Provide technical accounting advice across the Group, including guidance on significant accounting matters and support for M&A; transactions.
- Maintain accurate records of the Group’s legal entity structure and ownership interests.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliation processes and provide financial reporting guidance to finance teams across the business.
- Partner with Finance and ERP teams to improve and automate financial reporting processes and deliverables.
- Promote strong financial controls, risk management, compliance and safe working practices across all activities.
To be successful
- Degree qualified (accounting/finance or similar)
- CA qualified
- Demonstrated experience in external audit
- Experience with group consolidation and large global group structures
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in the application of IFRS
- Strong communicator and a team player
- Self-starter, with an ability to manage competing priorities and deliver required outcomes
- Advanced MS Excel skills
