THE ROLE The Senior Project Officer works within a small, high-performing team to lead, coordinate and support critical projects aimed at advancing Aboriginal self-determination through service reform. The role requires building and maintaining solid relationships across the department, division and with Victorian Aboriginal leaders to ensure policy development incorporates Aboriginal voice. It suits someone with experience in Aboriginal Affairs who is committed to embedding Aboriginal perspectives in reform, improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities, and supporting culturally responsive, innovative services.
Success in the role demands strategic thinking, clear and persuasive communication, the ability to work collaboratively in complex and fast-paced environments, and the skills to connect ideas, analyse impacts and contribute to lasting system reform
Accountabilities Include
- Contribute to the end-to-end delivery of projects that advance departmental and divisional objectives, including research, analysis, design, implementation and evaluation, with a clear focus on outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
- Manage allocated projects or workstreams within agreed scope, timelines, budgets and resources,
and provide progress reporting that highlights risks, dependencies and opportunities.
- Support the Manager, Priority Projects, and Director, Policy and Strategy, in the design, scoping and implementation of Aboriginal policy and system reform initiatives.
