Legal Assistant – Personal Injury

A well-established personal injury practice is seeking an organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join the team in a full-time, permanent capacity.

This role is best suited to someone with prior experience in a similar position.

About the Firm

This Melbourne-based plaintiff firm focuses on acting for individuals who have suffered injuries in workplace incidents, road accidents, and public settings.

Key Responsibilities

- Setting up and finalising client files

- Ongoing file maintenance and organisation

- Managing schedules, emails, and telephone enquiries

- Compiling briefs and preparing court documents

- Drafting routine correspondence

- Communicating with clients, insurers, and external parties

- Conducting database and online searches

- Assisting with basic legal research

- Supporting general office operations, including document handling, scanning, filing,



and mail management

Skills & Experience

- At least 12 months’ experience in a Legal Assistant or similar support role

- High level of accuracy and strong communication skills

- Demonstrated experience in personal injury law, ideally across WorkCover, TAC, or public liability matters

- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines in a busy environment

- A positive, can-do attitude with strong initiative

- Confidence using legal software systems (preferred but not essential)

- Capable of working autonomously as well as within a team setting
