About the Opportunity
Australian Industry Group's Apprentice and Trainee Centre (ATC) is seeking a School & Industry Engagement Coordinator to join the team. Based in the Fraser Coast Region, this newly created role will coordinate the Pathways to Manufacturing program across the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay-Burnett regions, working alongside project partners, schools, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), students/apprentices, host businesses and industry stakeholders to maximise outcomes in line with project deliverables. Reporting to the Lead Employment & Training Consultant, you will be instrumental in connecting young people to manufacturing career pathways through work experience and apprenticeship opportunities.
Whilst the reality of each day will be different, you can expect to be accountable for:
• Identifying, establishing and maintaining relationships with secondary schools, colleges and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) delivering eligible Certificate II programs
• Promoting the Pathways to Manufacturing Program, including work experience opportunities and apprenticeship pathways
• Building and maintaining effective partnerships with Career Advisors, VET Coordinators, teaching staff, RTO representatives and other education and industry networks
• Coordinating and delivering the School to Trade Program in collaboration with participating schools, colleges and RTOs
• Presenting information sessions to students on manufacturing career pathways, work experience, apprenticeship programs and industry employment outcomes
• Providing advice and guidance on apprenticeship and traineeship training options, qualification pathways and relevant training package requirements
• Identifying and engaging eligible school students (and teaching staff/parents or guardians where relevant) to participate in the program
• Working with host organisations to match candidates to work experience and apprenticeship pathways, and facilitating Job Readiness and Transition Support Days
• Identifying and fostering long-term relationships with host organisations, guiding them through onboarding and uncovering business development opportunities
• Keeping host organisations updated on changes to Employment and WHS legislation, including Respect@Work and psychosocial risk management
To best succeed in this role you will have:
• Experience partnering with external stakeholders to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes
• Experience driving strategic plans, KPIs, projects, and adherence to policies and processes
• A genuine passion for creating a supportive and engaged working environment
• Strong coaching and influencing skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relate to people at all levels in a consultative and collaborative manner
