About the role

Join our team at SGP Consulting Engineers as our new Structural Engineer or Draftsperson. This full-time position is based in Bendigo, VIC, where you'll play a key role in designing and delivering structural engineering projects for our clients. This exciting opportunity will give you plenty of exposure to a wide variety of compelling and challenging projects.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing detailed structural engineering designs, including calculations, drawings, and specifications for commercial and residential projects

- Design and detailing for reinforced concrete works in precast and pre-stressed concrete

- Collaborating with project managers, architects, building designers, councils, contractors, fabricators and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet requirements

- Producing high-quality technical documentation and reports

- Staying up-to-date with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and best practice

What we're looking for

- Solid experience and proficiency in CAD is essential, and qualifications will be highly regarded

- Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred but not required.

- Experience in a similar role, preferably within the building/civil/structural engineering industry

- Our office currently uses AutoCAD 2017 and Civil 3D





- Strong technical design and problem-solving skills

- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to "right first time" philosophy

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently to meet customer time expectations, manage priorities and deliver under pressure

- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and building codes
