Boilermaker/Welders - Major Pilbara Shutdown Campaign

- Potential Ongoing 2:1 Roster until Apr 2027
CGC Recruitment is seeking experienced Boilermaker/Welders for a major shutdown and recovery campaign with a leading industrial maintenance contractor across a large-scale Pilbara mining operation.
We are specifically looking for tradespeople who are actively welding and confident completing weld tests prior to mobilisation. Multiple positions are available throughout November, with successful candidates required to commence onboarding and compliance immediately.
Swing 1
- Mobilise: Wednesday 4th November
- Demobilise: Tuesday 10th November
Swing 2
- Mobilise: Tuesday 10th November
- Demobilise: Sunday 15th November
Candidates available for the full duration of both swings will be highly regarded.
Ongoing Opportunity
Candidates who perform well during the shutdown campaign may be offered the opportunity to transition onto a long-term 2:1 FIFO roster through to April 2027, providing excellent continuity of work beyond the shutdown period.
The Opportunity
These positions will support a significant shutdown and recovery scope involving structural repairs, maintenance activities and welding works across a major Pilbara mining operation. This is an excellent chance for experienced shutdown tradespeople to secure immediate work while also positioning themselves for longer-term rostered opportunities.

Our client has advised that welding capability is a critical requirement for this campaign.
Successful applicants must be confident in completing weld assessments involving:
- FCAW (Flux Core) Gas Shielded Welding
- MMAW (Stick) Welding
- All Position Butt Welds
- All Position Fillet Welds
- Welding to recognised industry standards
- Working to quality and inspection requirements

Mandatory Requirement
- Australian Recognised Boilermaker Trade Certificate
- Current Fire Training (within 4 years)
- Current Working at Heights ticket
- Construction White Card
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screen
- Availability to commence onboarding and compliance immediately
- Availability for the nominated shutdown dates
- Demonstrated shutdown, maintenance or fixed plant experience within mining, resources or heavy industry
- Strong FCAW (Flux Core) and MMAW (Stick) welding capability
- Proven ability to successfully complete weld tests and work to quality standards
