About the role

Are you an experienced high voltage technical professional looking to transition into a compliance pathway? Or are you already a Queensland Electrical Safety Office Accredited Auditor looking for your next career move? We are seeking a High Voltage (HV) Statutory Compliance Auditor — or a high-calibre technical qualified eligible for accreditation to join our compliance and engineering team. In this role, you will perform critical, independent statutory safety audits and inspections of high voltage installations across the mining, gas, heavy industrial, and utility sectors to ensure compliance under the Queensland Electrical Safety Act.

For an unaccredited candidate who possesses the underlying technical mastery, we provide dedicated mentorship, structured professional development, and administrative support to help you successfully complete and submit your Form 46 application to the Electrical Safety Office (ESO).

Duties and responsibilities

• Statutory Auditing & Compliance: Conduct initial, periodic, and modification audits on high voltage electrical installations across Queensland before connection or reconnection to an electricity supply.

• Safety Verification: Inspect complex electrical work to verify that high voltage facilities are electrically safe and fully compliant with AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), AS/NZS 3007, AS 2067, and all applicable legislative frameworks.

• Reporting & Documentation: Compile precise, high-quality audit reports, sign statutory certificates of compliance, maintain a comprehensive inspection log, and submit summary documentation to the ESO within the mandatory 28-day window.

• Client Advisory: Partner with clients to interpret electrical safety regulations, investigate issues, and provide expert, impartial recommendations to de-risk high-voltage infrastructure.

• Independence & Integrity: Strictly maintain independent oversight from any design, installation, or construction activities on projects being audited, upholding the Queensland Public Service Code of Conduct standards.





Selection Criteria

• Accreditation Status: Currently appointed as a High Voltage Accredited Auditor under the Queensland Electrical Safety Act 2002, OR possess the qualifications and deep technical background required to satisfy the ESO Form 46 criteria.

Technical Experience

• Currently appointed as a High Voltage Accredited Auditor under the Queensland Electrical Safety Act 2002, OR possess the qualifications and deep technical background required to satisfy the ESO Form 46 criteria

• Engineering Pathway: Degree-qualified (RPEQ or RPEQ-eligible) with 5+ years of post-graduate experience in heavy industrial, power systems, or utility sectors

• Trade Pathway: Licensed Electrical Mechanic with 5+ years of senior supervisory experience in high voltage installation, testing, commissioning, or operations

• Regulatory Knowledge: Exceptional working knowledge of the Queensland Electrical Safety Act 2002, Electrical Safety Regulation 2013/2026, AS/NZS 3000, and associated high voltage standards

• Professional Attributes: Robust capability to generate defendable, evidence-based report packages. High communication literacy is essential for interfacing with site asset owners, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

• Mobility: Valid open driver's licence and willingness to travel to regional and international site locations are required
