Senior EDR Officer

- One (1) ongoing role in the Tax Advisory and Review Branch, Policy, Advisory and Legal Services Division
- Salary $100,894 plus 12% superannuation – VPS Grade 4
- Based in Ballarat or Melbourne CBD, with hybrid working arrangements

The opportunity

The Senior Early Dispute Resolution Officer role supports the early dispute resolution function in the Tax Advisory and Review Branch (TARB) to undertake an initial assessment of certain objections referred to TARB, efficiently and practically resolve private rulings and/or objections by preparing responses and identify emerging issues, and review applications for hardship relief.

Reporting to the Principal Tax Specialist, the Senior EDR Officer will be responsible for:

- Effectively managing a file portfolio of medium complexity objections,



private rulings and hardship relief applications utilising early dispute resolution techniques as a key tool to achieve output efficiency whilst delivering high customer service.
- Supporting the development of efficiency initiatives to improve TARB processes, streamline work and deliver timely customer service.

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in meeting quality and output performance targets in a complex legal and commercial workplace with a focus early and efficient dispute resolution.
- The ability to interpret and apply complex legislation and legal research experience
- Demonstrated experience in delivering quality customer service to taxpayers and their advisers.
- High level communication skills (interpersonal, verbal and written)
