Environmental Manager - Renewable Infrastructure
About the Employer
Our client is an engineering and construction business working across transport, defence and major infrastructure. It combines project delivery expertise with a focus on collaboration, technical improvement and sustainable outcomes.
The Opportunity
Lead environmental performance during construction of a solar and battery development near Woodstock, south of Townsville. Working with the Project Director and delivery teams, you will translate approvals and environmental commitments into practical controls. Local candidates and FIFO applicants from Queensland home ports to Townsville can be considered.
Your Responsibilities
• Guide project teams on environmental legislation, statutory requirements and approval conditions.
• Put management plans and monitoring programs into operation, checking that commitments are maintained throughout construction.
• Identify environmental risks, coordinate audits and reporting, and follow improvements through to completion.
• Lead environmental planning and compliance activities across the renewable energy works.
• Maintain constructive relationships with regulators, landholders, consultants, clients and project stakeholders.
RequirementsSkills, Education and Requirements
• A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering, management, planning or a related discipline.
• Experience leading environmental compliance on substantial infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
• Sound understanding of environmental legislation, approval processes and management systems.
• Confidence working with regulators and stakeholders in complex delivery environments.
• Organised, practical leadership with clear communication and a collaborative approach.
