Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)
Salary Range: - $86,720 - $92,954 per annum + super
Location: Townsville

About the Role
As the Administration Officer – Functional Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the Civil and Open Space team by providing high-level administrative support, guidance and supervision to a small administration team. Acting as a central point of contact, you will work closely with operational leaders to coordinate administrative activities, improve processes and ensure consistent service delivery across the Infrastructure and Operations Division.
This is a hands-on role where you'll combine your administrative expertise with leadership responsibilities, supporting business operations through records management, reporting, correspondence, procurement activities, scheduling and customer service. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance systems, processes and workflows while delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
About you:
You are an experienced administration professional with a passion for customer service, team leadership and continuous improvement. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can confidently manage competing priorities and enjoy supporting operational teams to achieve successful outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience in an administration role supporting diverse teams and functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising administration staff.
- Robust organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Experience managing records, correspondence, reporting and business support activities.
- The ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement practical solutions.
- A Certificate IV in Business (or equivalent experience and competency).
- A current Queensland "C" Class Driver Licence.
