Help us end youth violence, one program at a time
At the Sammy D Foundation, we believe violence is never the answer. Every week our team is in schools, sporting clubs and communities across SA, giving young people the skills and confidence to make safer choices and look out for each other.
We're looking for a Program Development Manager to lead that work and take it further.
About the role
This is a maternity leave role. Part time leadership role 3 or 4 days a week reporting directly to the CEO. You'll lead our Education and Programs team, including our Mentor Coordinator and a group of Education Facilitators, and make sure our programs stay evidence-based, youth friendly, culturally inclusive and making a real difference.
You'll:
- Lead, recruit, train and support a passionate team of facilitators
- Review, refresh and evaluate our education and mentoring programs, face to face and online
- Keep our programs aligned with the national curriculum, policy and what communities need right now
- Work alongside our funding team on grants, partnerships, acquittals and impact reports
- Drive research, innovation and continuous improvement, and help shape our advocacy and position statements
- Represent the Foundation with schools, clubs, funders, government and community partners
- Prepare program reporting for the Board and our Annual Report
About you
You know programs inside out, from design to delivery to evaluation, and you love seeing young people thrive. You're a person that people want to work with, and you're just as comfortable presenting to a room full of students as you are sitting down with the team.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience developing and delivering programs in education, youth or community services
- Strong leadership, supervision and team development skills
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, partnerships and funding
- Confidence with reporting on outcomes, budgets and compliance
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, including public speaking
- Knowledge of issues affecting young people, particularly those at risk
- Management qualifications and/or significant relevant experience
It's a bonus if you have a tertiary qualification in Education, Youth Work, Community Services or a related field, not-for-profit experience, or experience working with young people with complex needs.
What we offer
- Pay under the SCHADS Award, Level 4, plus super and salary packaging
- A role with real purpose, where your work helps keep young people safe
- A warm, supportive team guided by our values: Connection, Inclusion, Collaboration, Innovation and Fun
- Flexibility to balance work and life
Good to know
Our office is in Morphett Vale, and you'll travel to schools, clubs and venues across the state, with occasional interstate trips. Some after-hours work is needed for programs, meetings and events. You'll need a current DHS Working with Children Check, a National Police Check, Safe Environments for Children training (or be willing to get it) and a current driver's licence.
