Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing the operating theatre for intricate spinal and cranial surgeries, including the management of highly specialised instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining strict aseptic technique and delivering safe, patient-centred care throughout the perioperative journey.
- Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and responding promptly to changes during procedures to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre colleagues in a complex, rapid-paced environment.
- Exercising independent professional judgement and critical thinking during procedures and critical incidents.
