Jayleen Bridal House is looking for an experienced Bridal Dressmaker / Alterations Specialist to join our Armadale team.
We are seeking someone who has strong experience working specifically with wedding gowns, from bridal alterations through to more complex dressmaking work, and who is confident working directly with brides throughout the fitting process.
Key Responsibilities
Bridal gown alterations, including hemming, taking in/out, bust and bodice adjustments, straps, sleeves, zips, boning and structural alterations
Experience working with delicate bridal fabrics, lace, beading, tulle and detailed gowns
Conducting bridal fittings confidently and professionally
Assessing alteration requirements and clearly explaining the process to brides
Taking accurate measurements and fitting notes
Preparing alteration paperwork and maintaining detailed records for each bride
Tracking alteration progress, fitting dates and completion deadlines
Ensuring gowns are completed to a high standard and ready on time
Communicating with our bridal stylists and management regarding each bride’s alterations
Maintaining a clean, organised and qualified alteration workspace
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has proven experience in bridal dressmaking and wedding gown alterations
Is confident conducting fittings independently
Has excellent sewing and garment construction skills
Has strong attention to detail and high-quality finishing standards
Is organised and capable of managing paperwork and multiple alteration jobs at the same time
Can follow each gown from the first fitting through to final completion
Has robust English communication skills and can communicate comfortably with brides and the team
Is reliable, professional and able to work to deadlines
Understands that bridal alterations require patience, precision and exceptional care
Experience working in a bridal boutique or bridal alterations workplace will be highly regarded.
