As a Personal Care Worker with Senior Helpers, you’ll provide one-on-one in-home support to participants, never juggling multiple people in one shift, always building a genuine relationship with the person you’re caring for.
You’ll be matched to participants whose care needs align with your skills and availability, and you’ll have the backing of an experienced Care Partner who knows each participant well.
Typical shift activities include
-Personal care — assistance with showering, grooming, dressing, and continence support; companionship and social engagement
-Meal preparation and assistance with eating
-Medication prompts and assistance (within scope of practice)
-Transport to appointments, shopping, and community activities
-Mobility support and transfers (with appropriate manual handling training)
-Overnight sleepover and active overnight shifts
-Case noting at the end of every shift
What we need from you (mandatory)
Australian aged care and NDIS work is highly regulated.
The items below are non-negotiable ,we cannot roster anyone without them in place. If you have most but not all, get in touch anyway ,we can sometimes support candidates to complete a missing piece before commencement.
Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community, or Disability) or equivalent , with at least 12 months hands-on experience in aged care or disability support
Aged Care Worker Screening Check (current clearance) — required under the Aged Care Act 2024 for any worker delivering aged care services
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (current) — required for any work supporting NDIS participants
National Police Certificate (current within 3 years)
Current First Aid and CPR certificate (HLTAID011 and HLTAID009) — CPR is annually refreshable
Manual handling training (current)
Current Australian driver’s licence, a reliable registered vehicle, and comprehensive vehicle insurance
Right to work in Australia
Pay: $36.00 – $46.00 per hour
