Senior Contract Administrator

Our client is a well-established building contractor specialising in modular construction, structural steel, and cladding works, based in West Melbourne. Due to continued growth within their commercial division, they're seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to take ownership of a portfolio of commercial construction projects — from award through to completion — managing budgets, contracts, and profitability while mentoring the wider team.

Key Responsibilities
Own the commercial performance of allocated projects — budgets, forecasting, and profitability
Administer contracts and maximise entitlements (variations, EOTs, delay costs)
Lead commercial negotiations with builders, consultants, and subcontractors
Monitor cost-to-complete, cash flow, and margin, driving corrective action where needed
Manage contract administration end-to-end — notices, claims, final accounts, retention




Partner with Procurement to manage supplier risk and budget compliance
Identify and mitigate commercial, contractual, and programme risks
Support and mentor Project Managers and Contract Administrators
Build strong relationships with Tier 1/Tier 2 builders, developers, and consultants

About You
Proven experience as a Contract Administrator or Senior Contracts Administrator in commercial construction environment
Strong commercial, financial, and contractual acumen
Confident negotiator with excellent stakeholder management skills
Leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring team members (highly regarded but not essential)
Highly organised with solid attention to detail
