Deryan Financial Group is a Melbourne accounting and advisory firm. We look after individuals, small to medium businesses, trusts and self-managed super funds. We're looking for an experienced Accountant to join our accounting and tax team in Burnley.

Key duties
Prepare annual financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders
Prepare and lodge income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships
Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS, and reconcile GST, PAYG withholding and PAYG instalments
Review and reconcile general ledgers, bank accounts, loan accounts and balance sheet items
Prepare year-end adjusting journals, depreciation schedules and tax reconciliations
Prepare management reports, budgets and cash flow forecasts for business clients
Analyse clients' financial results and advise on tax planning, business structure and compliance
Ensure compliance with Australian tax law, ATO requirements and accounting standards
Liaise with the ATO and ASIC for clients, including correspondence, payment arrangements and annual company reviews
Review bookkeeping records and set up internal controls and accounting systems for clients




Prepare FBT returns, payroll tax calculations and other compliance work as needed
Keep accurate working papers and file documentation to firm and skilled standards

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
Membership of, or eligibility for, CPA Australia, CA ANZ or IPA
At least 3 years' experience as an Accountant, preferably in public practice
Solid working knowledge of Australian taxation law and accounting standards
Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for a range of entity types
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and MYOB, plus practice management and tax lodgement software
Robust analytical skills, attention to detail and good written and verbal communication

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
