Role Description The Accountant role is a full time, on-site position based in Toowoomba, QLD. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting activities such as preparing financial statements, processing journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts.

Responsibilities include preparing and lodging tax returns and BAS, assm, and supporting business advisory work through analysis and reporting. The role involves working directly with clients to understand their goals, provide explicit explanations of financial information, and deliver tailored advice in collaboration with senior team members. The Accountant will also assist with workflow management, maintain accurate records, and contribute to continuous improvement of internal p rocesses.Qualifications
Solid technical accounting skills,



including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation.
Experience with taxation compliance, including preparation of individual and business tax returns, BAS, and familiarity with SMSF requirements.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and support business advisory recommendations.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused approach and the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible language.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills to manage deadlines and multiple client files.
Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce; CPA or CA qualification (or working toward) is highly regarded.
Previous experience in public practice accounting is beneficial, particularly within business advisory and taxation services.
