Role Description: The Electrical Engineer will primarily work in office in Western Australia, supporting projects involving power systems design and hazardous areas compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and analysing electrical control and power systems, hardware design for distributed control systems, performing calculations and load studies, and designing advanced power systems (including load flow calculations and harmonic mitigation) for ‘green hydrogen’ industrial infrastructure projects. The engineer will collaborate with electrical contractors and the client to troubleshoot electrical issues, optimise system performance, provide technical leadership,
conduct feasibility studies, and prepare technical documentation for electrical infrastructure (construction and mining) projects.
Additional tasks include preparing documentation, verification dossiers, and assisting with hazardous areas (explosive gas atmospheres) classifications, CADs, and compliance audits.
Requirements:
Skilled Member – Engineers Australia (ideally with chartered status)
Bachelor of Science – Electrical and Information Engineering
UEEHA0025 – Install explosion-protected equipment and associated apparatus and wiring systems
UEEHA0020 – Conduct detailed inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
'Green hydrogen' hazardous areas classification, design, and electrical compliance experience
Experience with ATEX, CSA, FM, UKCA, and UL Conformity Assessment Documents
At least five years' experience as an electrical engineer with power systems design and hazardous areas experience
