Protected Steps Disability & Complex Care Service is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Family Support Worker to join our team and provide quality support to individuals and families within the community.

About the Role

The Family Support Worker will provide practical, emotional, and social support to families who may require assistance with daily living, family wellbeing, and accessing appropriate community services.

Key Responsibilities
Provide practical and emotional support to individuals, children, and families.
Assist families with daily living activities, parenting support, household tasks, and community participation.
Develop positive and professional relationships with clients and their families.
Support clients to access appropriate community, health, disability, and social services.
Assist families in developing strategies to improve wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.
Monitor client needs and report any changes or concerns to relevant supervisors or professionals.
Maintain accurate case notes, client records, and service documentation.
Advocate for clients and support their individual needs and goals.




Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, health specialists, and other service providers.
Follow all relevant workplace health and safety, safeguarding, privacy, and organisational policies.
Identify and report any concerns relating to client safety and wellbeing in accordance with relevant Australian legislation.
Participate in team meetings, training, and career development activities.

About You
Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Individual Support, Disability, Social Work, Family Support, or a related field.
Previous experience working with families, children, people with disability, or individuals requiring complex support.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A compassionate, respectful, and client-focused approach.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
A commitment to maintaining client dignity, privacy, safety, and wellbeing.
