About the role
We're looking for an experiencedShop Managerto take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our new workplace café.
This is a hands-on leadership role.
You'll lead the team, oversee food and beverage service, manage stock and ordering, and ensure our customers receive consistently high-quality food, coffee and service.
We're looking for someone who is more than just a manager.Strong food and beverage knowledge, excellent coffee skills and a genuine passion for hospitality are essential.
What you'll be responsible for
Leading and supporting the café team
Running day-to-day food and beverage operations
Maintaining consistently high coffee quality and service standards
Overseeing food preparation, presentation and quality
Stock ordering, receiving and stock control
Managing wastage and food costs
Staff rostering and team coordination
Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and workplace safety standards
Opening and closing the venue
Monitoring sales and operational performance
Building a positive, professional and customer-focused team culture
Working with Bright Beans management to continually improve the venue
What we're looking for
The right person will have:
Proven experience managing a café, restaurant, hospitality venue or similar
Strong barista and coffee skills
Strong food and beverage knowledge
A genuine understanding of quality food and coffee
Experience leading and developing a team
Strong operational and organisational skills
Experience with stock ordering, inventory and cost control
The ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy environment
A hands-on approach and willingness to jump in wherever needed
Excellent communication and leadership skills
A strong work ethic and positive attitude
You don't need to be a head chef or a coffee roaster, but you do need to understand what good looks like when it comes to food, coffee and hospitality.
This role is for you if...
You're the type of person who notices when the coffee isn't right, knows when food isn't up to standard, sees what needs doing before being asked, and can bring a team along with you.
You're confident making decisions, solving problems and taking ownership of your venue.
