About the Role:

Challenge Foster Care, part of Challenge Community Services, is seeking a compassionate and professional
Supervised Contact Worker
to organise and supervise family and sibling contact for children and young people in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC).
n
This role plays a vital part in ensuring contact visits are safe, structured and supportive, while always prioritising the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.
n
You will work closely with Case Workers, carers and families to facilitate meaningful connections and provide accurate, factual reporting following each contact session.

Duties:
n
n
Organise and supervise family and sibling contact visits for children in OOHC
n
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people during all contact
n
Provide emotional support to children and young people before, during and after contact
n
Maintain professional, appropriate communication with carers and birth families
n
Complete accurate, objective and timely written contact reports
n
Adhere to all relevant legislation, policies and child protection standards
n
Maintain confidentiality at all times
n
Participate in team meetings and relevant training
n
Ensure contact environments are safe and compliant with WHS requirements
n
n
Skills and Experience:
n
Essential:
n
n
Experience working with children and families in complex situations
n
Strong analytical, interpersonal and written communication skills
n
Ability to manage and supervise complex family and sibling contact autonomously
n
High-level negotiation and mediation skills
n
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and organisational needs
n
Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, factual and high-quality written reports
n
Competent in Microsoft Office
n
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
n
Empathy and commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people
n
Driver's Licence, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Ability to pass a National Criminal History Check
n
Access to a personal vehicle for work use, if required
n
Ability to work both weekdays and weekends
n
n
Desirable:
n
n
Qualifications in Human Services (Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services or related field)
