What Councils Are Looking For n

Qualifications:
Diploma of Arboriculture (AQF Level 5 or equivalent) required.
n
n
Technical Expertise:
Solid understanding of tree risk assessment (TRAQ/QTRA) and tree protection standards (e.g., AS or regional equivalents).
n
n
Skills:
Ability to assess development plans, review arborist reports, and communicate advice clearly to council planners, builders, and community members.
n
n
Prior council or statutory planning experience is a robust advantage, but arborists with strong report‐writing skills looking to step into local government are highly encouraged to apply.
