Senior Fire Safety Engineer
role is for an experienced fire engineer who wants to spend less time in the modelling and more time shaping the outcome. You'll set the fire safety direction on a diverse range of projects, backed by a capable team that handles the day-to-day delivery, and you'll have genuine scope to grow into leadership and influence where the business goes next.
What you'll do:
Shape the fire safety strategy for projects, defining the engineering approach from concept through to approval.
Oversee the development of Performance Solutions, making sure they are robust, well-reasoned and aligned with the Performance Requirements of the NCC and relevant standards.
Direct the scope of fire engineering analysis, including CFD, fire and smoke modelling, and egress modelling, and use the outcomes to guide strategy.
Provide senior technical review of fire engineering reports and deliverables.
Evaluate emerging fire safety solutions and innovations, and bring the best of them into our work.
Lead conversations with fire brigades, building surveyors, architects and clients to work through complex technical issues and secure approvals.

Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum
5+ years
of experience as a Fire Safety Engineer.
A Postgraduate qualification specialising in fire safety will be viewed favourably but not essential.
Eligible
for Chartered Professional Engineer status or state registration (fire safety).
A Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; Civil/Structural disciplines will also be considered).
Possession of a valid VIC driver's license and access to a readily available vehicle.
Passion for improving fire safety in the built environment.
Strong creativity, drive, and attention to detail.
Proficient across Word/Excel/Outlook with a willingness to learn new software tools.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in report writing and mentoring capabilities.
