Job Description
You will support participants to increase their independence, participate in the community and work towards their individual goals. This is a casual disability support position providing person-centred care to NDIS participants in their homes and within the community.
Key responsibilities n
Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting
n
Supporting participants with complex health needs
n
Supporting participants with meal preparation, cleaning, laundry and daily household tasks
n
Providing community access and transport to appointments, activities, employment or education
n
Supporting participants with medication in accordance with their support plans and organisational procedures
n
Assisting with mobility, transfers and manual handling
n
Supporting participants with social engagement and independent living skills
n
Following behaviour support plans and responding appropriately to behaviours of concern
n
Monitoring and reporting changes in a participant's health, behaviour or wellbeing
n
Completing accurate case notes, incident reports and other required documentation
About you n
A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification
n
Previous experience in disability support, mental health, nursing or community services
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Working with Children Check
n
Current First Aid and CPR certification
n
Access to a reliable and appropriately insured vehicle
n
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
n
A person-centred approach to supporting people with disability
n
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Availability to work across shifts times including, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays
n
Flexible casual working arrangements
