VACCHO is committed to supporting our staff through a
hybrid work model
that balances flexibility with connection.
All new staff complete a three-month training and onboarding period in the office. This ensures they receive the right support, build relationships, and develop a strong understanding of VACCHO's systems and ways of working.
Following this period, staff may request for working from home to be considered for up to two days per week for full-time staff and scaled back for 0.8 FTE and 0.6 FTE staff. This hybrid model allows us to stay collaborative and connected while also supporting our team to enjoy the benefits of flexibility and work–life balance.

We have 35 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. About the role
In this role you will use your project and/or health industry experience to pick up the Journey to the Dreaming Project. It is already in progress so you are not starting from scratch, but rather quickly getting up to speed and leading it to completion. To add a bit of variety, you will also be working on finalising advanced care plan documents and contributing to other life stages work that is underway. Your cultural experience is critical to this role as you will be ensuring the project and resources meet the needs of Community.
You will work with various stakeholders including the Victorian Palliative Care Network, the Aboriginal Hospital Liaison workforce, the Palliative care workforce, member organisations and of course, your team mates at VACCHO.
Essential skills/experiences

identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Straight Islander,
has a background in project and/or the health industry (palliative care would be amazing!),
is organised,
productive and can follow directions well with a level of confidence that sees you asking questions where needed,
is thoughtful and supportive,
loves sharing ideas, providing feedback and bouncing ideas around, and finally
has a sense of humour
