Socovery is a disability support provider delivering person-centred support to participants with psychosocial, intellectual, cognitive and physical disabilities, across Melbourne's North and North-West.
We are currently seeking
casual Disability Support Workers
who are reliable, professional and committed to providing consistent, high-quality support.
Our workers are expected to follow instructions carefully, communicate clearly, complete accurate documentation and provide support in a way that respects each participant's individual needs, choices, goals and independence.

About the role
As a Disability Support Worker with Socovery, you will be expected to provide secure, respectful and person-centred support during every shift.
Follow individual instructions and any relevant risk management strategies
Provide support in line with the participant's needs, goals, preferences and level of independence
Maintain the participant's dignity, choice, privacy and safety at all times
Communicate appropriately with the participant and relevant team members
Complete accurate and timely shift notes and all required documentation
Report incidents, concerns, changes in presentation or other relevant information in accordance with Socovery procedures
Follow all organisational policies, procedures and workplace instructions
Work reliably, professionally and within the boundaries of your role
Depending on the participant and the allocated shift, support may also include:
Assistance with daily living and personal care
Community access and social participation
Transport to appointments, activities and community outings
Meal preparation and household assistance
Supporting participants with routines and personal goals
Manual handling or other participant-specific support tasks where trained and required
About you
We are looking for Disability Support Workers who are dependable, professional and genuinely committed to providing high-quality support.
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
Be reliable, punctual and prepared for every shift
Communicate respectfully and professionally with participants, families and team members
Follow participant support plans, shift instructions and organisational procedures consistently
Be attentive to changes in a participant's presentation, behaviour, wellbeing or support needs
Maintain professional boundaries and respect participant privacy, dignity, choice and independence
Complete clear, accurate and timely shift notes and other required documentation
Report incidents, concerns and relevant changes promptly and appropriately
Be willing to provide participant transport when required
Be adaptable, as support requirements can vary between participants and shifts
Be comfortable receiving feedback, following direction and working as part of a broader support team
We value workers who take responsibility for the quality of support they provide and understand that reliability, communication and accurate documentation are essential parts of the role.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
Your own reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle available for you to drive for
every rostered shift
The ability and willingness to use your vehicle for participant transport when required
A reliable mobile phone with access to mobile data
The ability to use digital systems to access shift information and complete required documentation
The ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English
NDIS Worker Screening Check
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Working With Children Check
First Aid certification, valid within three years of issue
CPR certification, valid within one year of issue
Please note: successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of all mandatory licences, checks, training and certifications before commencing work with Socovery.
Access to a suitable vehicle is a mandatory requirement of this position. Workers must have their own reliable,
registered and comprehensively insured vehicle available for them to drive for every rostered shift.
Previous disability or community services experience is not mandatory.
Experience in disability support, personal care, community access, participant transport, manual handling, behaviours of concern or complex support needs will be viewed favourably, but suitability, reliability and willingness to meet the requirements of the role are equally important.
