Exige Law is seeking an experienced and motivated
Senior Commercial Litigation Lawyer
to join our growing practice and play a key leadership role within the firm.
This position is ideally suited to an autonomous practitioner with at least
10 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution
, who is confident managing complex matters from commencement through to resolution.
The successful candidate will have strong technical ability, sound commercial judgment and the ability to independently manage a broad litigation caseload while maintaining direct client relationships.
We are open to tailoring the role to the strengths and experience of the right candidate.
Remuneration
Salary package of
$150,000 – $200,000+
, depending on experience;
Higher remuneration may be available for an exceptional candidate, particularly where the candidate brings an existing client base or established referral network;

About the Role
The primary and exclusive focus of this role is
commercial litigation and dispute resolution
.
You will be responsible for managing a broad range of commercial disputes, including matters involving:
Contractual disputes;
Shareholder and partnership disputes;
Director and company disputes;
Property and leasing disputes;
Loan, finance and security enforcement disputes;
Insolvency-related disputes;
Debt recovery and enforcement proceedings;
Misleading or deceptive conduct and other commercial claims;
Urgent interlocutory applications and injunctions;
Mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution;
Magistrates' Court, County Court and Supreme Court proceedings; and




Tribunal and other commercial dispute resolution matters.
The role will involve significant autonomy and direct client contact. You will be expected to independently manage files from initial instructions through to hearing, settlement or other resolution.
You will also work closely with counsel, experts and other external consultants as required and will play an important role in mentoring and supporting junior practitioners within the firm.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
A minimum of
10 years' post-admission experience
;
Strong and substantial experience in
commercial litigation and dispute resolution
;
The ability to independently manage complex litigation files from inception through to resolution;
Experience conducting matters in the Magistrates' Court, County Court and Supreme Court;
Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence and litigation strategy;
Excellent drafting skills across pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence and advice;
Strong advocacy, negotiation and strategic thinking skills;
Experience briefing and working closely with barristers and expert witnesses;
Proven ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team;
Leadership capability and the ability to mentor and support junior practitioners;
Strong organisational skills, initiative and attention to detail;
Excellent communication and client relationship skills;
A personable, pragmatic and commercially minded approach;
A commitment to delivering high-quality legal work and exceptional client service; and
Experience working within a billable legal practice,



including familiarity with time recording and the ability to confidently achieve reasonable performance KPIs.
An existing client following or referral network would be highly regarded but is not essential.
