Job Description
Pius X Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a motivated and community minded Dental Assistant Trainee to join our busy Dental Clinic. As a trainee, you will receive hands on clinical experience, structured supervision, and formal training toward a Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting—all while contributing to culturally safe, high quality care for our community.
Key responsibilities n
n
Support dentists and oral health clinicians during treatments
n
Prepare dental surgery rooms, instruments, and equipment
n
Follow sterilisation, infection control, and WHS procedures
n
Assist with patient flow, bookings, recalls, and client communication
n
Maintain accurate patient records and support administrative tasks
n
Participate in outreach, school dental programs, and community oral health activities
n
Provide culturally protected, respectful care to Aboriginal clients and families
n

n
Able to follow instructions, routines, and clinical procedures
n
Calm, friendly, and professional in busy environments
n
A strong communicator who works well in a team
n
Interested in building a career in dental or health services
n
Aboriginality (Section 14D, Anti Discrimination Act NSW)
n
Willingness to enrol in and complete Certificate III/IV in Dental Assisting
n
Compliance with Category A immunisation requirements
n
Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
