About the Role
n
As the Senior Project Engineer – Electrical, you will be responsible for the conceptual and detailed engineering of HV substations, solar farms, battery energy storage systems, and electrical balance‐of‐plant (BOP). You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will provide technical direction and leadership through all project phases — from planning and procurement to commissioning and handover.
Technical & Project Delivery
n
n
Lead and conduct complex engineering work with minimal supervision
n
Provide specialist engineering advice to internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
n
Coordinate and supervise multi‐discipline design activities
n
Manage interfaces between engineering disciplines and external stakeholders
n
Develop ITPs, work packs and review electrical test sheets
n
Support commissioning teams and troubleshoot technical queries
n
Ensure design‐for‐construction principles are met
n
Review project scope, costs, scheduling and provide timely reporting to PMs and Commercial teams
n
Assist with procurement, documentation control and monthly client reporting
n




Support on-site quality assurance and adherence to company systems and procedures
n
Safety
n
n
Maintain a strong safety-first mindset at all times
n
Participate in pre‐start meetings, risk assessments, and incident reporting
n
Use appropriate PPE and promote safe working practices
n
Support WHS documentation and compliance as required
n
People & Compliance
n
n
Provide mentorship and supervision to technical staff
n
Comply with UGL policies including HSE, Code of Conduct, IT, HR, EEO, and Quality Systems
n
Participate in training, development, and site inductions
n
Present professionally and maintain a well‐organised working area
n
Qualifications & Experience
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (Essential)
n
Solid experience in HV electrical systems, substations, and power systems
n
Proven leadership or supervisory ability
n
Experience managing technical teams and subcontractors
n
Solid understanding of AS**** Quality Systems
n
Willingness to travel across states and undertake FIFO as required
n
