Experienced Social Worker required for this NT service. This is a remote 60 bed hospital. The service requires high level skills as a sole Social Worker and demonstrated cultural competence working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. There is a high incidence of domestic and family violence, child neglect and abuse reporting and statutory child removal.
You must be available from 28th September – 16th October – the dates are not flexible.

n
ExperienceNOT including
placementsproviding
clinical social work services within a hospital setting (Emergency Department), including crisis intervention and short term support
n
Strong knowledge and experience in domestic and family violence risk assessment, safety planning and support services
n
Experience working with child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting requirements, and liaising with relevant agencies
n
Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts, on call (penalty rates apply)
n
This role is NOT suitable for recent graduates or candidates who don't have PAID hospital experience
n
n
Cases include:

Sexual violence
n
ED presentations
n




Crisis response (adults and paediatrics)
n
Guardianship
n
Advocacy
n
NDIS applications
n
Inpatients only – ED, acute wards – general medical, surgical, palliative care, rehabilitation, maternity and paediatrics
n
You must have strong crisis response and experience with victims of domestic and sexual violence
n
Join a team of clinicians at different levels from Director, Team leaders, SWs, DTs, OTs, PTs, SPs, AHAs, ALOs, Admin
n
n
You must have relevant experience.
n
This role requires you to be eligible for AASW membership
Overseas trained Social Workers, please do not respond unless your qualifications have been assessed by the AASW
