Swan Transit is seeking an experienced and influential leader to join our senior management team as Area Manager – Industrial Relations & Operations.
n
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this unique leadership role combines operational oversight of metropolitan bus depots with responsibility for industrial relations strategy, enterprise bargaining, employee relations and workplace compliance.
n
This is a pivotal position that will help shape Swan Transit's future workforce strategy while supporting the safe, efficient and reliable delivery of public transport services across Western Australia.
About the Role n
The successful candidate will provide leadership across both operational and workplace relations functions, supporting depot management teams while ensuring the organisation remains compliant, productive and positioned for future growth.

Play a key role in upcoming Enterprise Agreement negotiations.
n
Influence workplace relations strategy across a large and diverse workforce.
n
Work directly with the Executive Leadership Team.
n
Lead meaningful organisational and operational initiatives
n

The role will have responsibility for: Industrial Relations & Enterprise Bargaining n

Leading Enterprise Agreement bargaining and negotiation activities.
n
Developing industrial relations strategies aligned with business objectives.
n
Providing expert advice on Enterprise Agreements, Awards, employment legislation and workplace policies.
n
Maintaining constructive relationships with unions, employee representatives and key stakeholders.
n
Managing industrial disputes, conciliations and Fair Work Commission matters.
n
Supporting leaders in performance management, disciplinary processes and employee relations matters.
n
Conducting and overseeing workplace investigations.
n
Employee Relations & Organisational Support n
n
Building leadership capability across the business in employee relations and people management.
n
Supporting organisational change, workforce transitions and restructuring activities.
n
Providing practical advice and guidance on complex employment matters.
n
Partnering with operational leaders to achieve positive workplace outcomes.
n
Depot Operations & Leadership n
n
Providing operational oversight of assigned depot operations.
n
Leading and developing depot management teams.
n
Ensuring safe, effective and compliant delivery of public transport services.
n
Monitoring operational performance and implementing improvement initiatives.
