The Opportunity
This is a business approaching its 50th year, but don't let that fool you. Right now, it's in one of the most exciting growth phases in its history. Significant investment has gone into marketing, new products and sales infrastructure and the business is now further building the sales team to capitalise on that momentum. You will be equipped with a strong product range with a leading 7-Year warranty, AI-powered tools that keep admin to a minimum so you can focus entirely on selling and great product training. This isn't a role for someone after an easy ride. It's for someone who backs themselves in the field, wants to earn what they're worth, and wants to be part of a business that's genuinely on the move.
As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in demonstrating capital equipment and consumables to end users.
The business takes hiring new talent very seriously and the on-boarding process into the business is strong and well structured.
The Role
The core purpose of this role is to professionally present the company's products in front of welders, fabricators, and manufacturers, run high-quality demonstrations, and convert end users to sales through local distributor channels.
Conduct end user product demonstrations across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, focusing on capital equipment, welding consumables and PPE. For this purpose, you will use a professionally branded company Ute with demonstration trailer to a range of end users including fabrication workshops and job sites.
Log demonstration activity into the business CRM system straight after each visit, using easy-to-use cutting-edge AI technology that leads to low but effective administration.
Record outcome, next steps, and any relevant notes about the end user account.
Capture photos and videos of on-site demonstration for marketing purposes.
Participate in strategic end user programs such as TAFE institution engagement
Key Interactions
Within the business, you will report into a Senior Business Development Manager and liaise with other managers and local sales personnel.
Who are you?
You are a driven sales professional who can naturally work autonomously but you are also a natural collaborator who wants to see not only themselves win, but their colleagues and the business win.
Your selling experience, amongst other areas, includes likely at least 3 years specifically selling into industrial markets.
You have experience in demonstrating a product in the field (machinery, tools, equipment of some kind)
You enjoy knocking on new doors, opening current accounts and developing new business.
You enjoy being out on the road, typically making around 20 calls per week
You enjoy travel and have a track record in succeeding in a sales role that has travel. This role averages at 7 nights per month, ranging from overnight stays to 3 to 4 night trips.
Stoke Consulting has an exclusive arrangement in hiring for this role.
