Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join a well-established organisation on a 3-month temporary assignment. This role will see you supporting a high-volume Accounts Payable function, acting as a key point of escalation for complex AP matters and providing technical expertise across the wider finance team. Based in Richmond, the role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
The Opportunity
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of the Accounts Payable function while supporting stakeholders with complex queries, escalations, and process improvement initiatives.
Working within a fast-paced finance environment, you will utilise your strong AP knowledge to resolve issues, maintain supplier relationships, and contribute to the ongoing efficiency of the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex Accounts Payable queries and escalations
- Process invoices and payments accurately and efficiently within a high-volume environment
- Investigate and resolve supplier account discrepancies and payment issues
- Support vendor onboarding and supplier maintenance activities
- Act as a subject matter expert for Accounts Payable-related matters
- Assist with payment runs, reconciliations, and month-end activities
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries promptly
- Ensure data accuracy and maintain strong financial controls across the AP function
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and workflow enhancements
- Support reporting requirements as required
- Contribute to a team-oriented and high-performing finance team
About You
- Previous experience in a Senior Accounts Payable Officer or similar role
- Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable knowledge
- Experience working within a high-volume processing environment
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex AP issues independently
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong systems aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new technology
- Experience with SAP and/or Esker will be highly regarded
- Manufacturing, retail, FMCG, or large corporate environment experience will be viewed favourably
