D'Arcy Weil is recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer, Generation Connections on behalf of a major Victorian electricity network business. The role provides specialist electrical engineering as recent solar, wind and battery storage projects connect to the network, including:

- Producing and reviewing HV, MV and LV designs for substations, switchyards, protection and control, SCADA and plant controls
- Supporting grid connection processes and power system studies for connecting generators and batteries
- Managing electrical engineering risk within project scope, with commercially aware, risk-based judgement
- Contributing to technical tender evaluations, supplier assessments and contractor engagement
- Mentoring and coaching junior engineers and contractors

The work follows connection assets through their whole life, from early development through commissioning to sustained operation, and suits an engineer who designs for constructability, compliance and long-term network performance.
The Role

- Produce and review electrical designs across HV, MV and LV systems, substations, switchyards, protection and control, SCADA and plant controls, keeping outputs compliant, constructible and fit for purpose through every project phase
- Support grid connection processes and power system studies for new generation and battery storage, ensuring designs meet regulatory and network requirements
- Identify and manage electrical engineering risk within assigned scope, applying commercially aware, risk-based judgement through design and delivery
- Provide engineering assurance and design reviews ready for team lead sign-off, applying Australian Standards, network requirements and industry practice consistently




- Contribute to technical tender evaluations, supplier assessments, technical clarifications and contractor engagement
- Lift the reliability, availability and performance of connection assets, with a practical view of the electrical asset lifecycle
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and contractors, and help build a collaborative engineering culture

About You

- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years in electrical engineering for large-scale infrastructure, transmission, power generation or renewable energy assets
- Strong experience on generation connection or renewable projects, gained in a network, utility, EPC, owner's engineer or developer setting
- Advanced design and review capability across HV, MV and LV systems
- Experience with grid connection processes and power system studies
- In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards and power industry practice
- Commercial awareness and sound risk judgement
