Mjd Recruitment
Sydney
This is a newly created opportunity to work closely with a Global Chief Information Officer within a large, complex international organisation.
Sitting within the Global CIO Office, the Executive Officer will provide structure, coordination and leverage across a geographically dispersed technology leadership group. The role will work across senior executives and CIOs in multiple markets, helping to drive priorities forward, coordinate key initiatives and ensure important actions do not lose momentum.
This is not a traditional Executive Assistant role, nor is it a senior Chief of Staff position. It will suit someone who enjoys operating across executive support, business management, stakeholder coordination and project facilitation, and who is comfortable working with senior leaders in a fast-moving environment.
The role
Working directly with the Global CIO, you will help create structure around a broad portfolio of priorities and support the effective operating rhythm of the leadership group.
Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating priorities across the Global CIO and senior technology leaders across multiple international markets
- Preparing for and facilitating leadership meetings, including agendas, briefing materials, actions and follow-up
- Driving agreed actions and initiatives forward across multiple stakeholders
- Helping maintain visibility across key workstreams, decisions and competing priorities
- Improving communication and coordination across geographically dispersed teams
- Preparing presentations, papers, updates and executive-level communications
- Undertaking research and analysis to support decision-making
- Bringing together information from across the business and ensuring clear follow-through
- Supporting broader strategic and operational initiatives within the Global CIO Office
About you
We are looking for someone with strong judgement, curiosity and the confidence to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
You may currently be working as an Executive Officer, Business Manager, Senior Executive Assistant, Associate or in an early-career Chief of Staff position.
Alternatively, you may have developed your experience within consulting or professional services and be looking to move into a role closer to executive leadership.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience working closely with senior executives or leadership teams
- Strong coordination, facilitation and stakeholder management capability
- The ability to take broad or ambiguous priorities and create structure around them
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Confidence influencing progress without relying on formal authority
- A practical, hands-on approach across both strategic and operational work
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Previous technology experience is not essential but desirable. More important is your ability to understand complex environments quickly, ask thoughtful questions and work effectively across senior stakeholder groups.
The chance
This role offers significant exposure to a senior global executive and an international leadership group within a large, established organisation.
For someone looking to move beyond traditional executive support or consulting into a broader Executive Officer or Business Manager pathway, it offers genuine scope to build experience across leadership, coordination, strategy and global stakeholder management.
