AGRICULTURAL TECHNICIAN Location: Bungundarra, Queensland (near Yeppoon)
Salary Range: $77,000 – $87,000 per annum

About the Role A skilled Agricultural Technician is required to join a leading pineapple-growing enterprise in Central Queensland.
This position supports the development, monitoring, and optimisation of farm production systems through practical fieldwork, data collection, equipment maintenance, and close collaboration with agronomists and farm management teams.
The successful applicant will play an active role in crop sampling, analysing growth performance, and implementing improvements to achieve consistent, high-quality fruit production.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and record crop samples and environmental data to monitor growth, yield, and soil conditions.
- Conduct field inspections to assess pest, disease, and irrigation performance.
- Liaise with agronomists and farm management to evaluate crop health and recommend adjustments to fertiliser, chemical, and irrigation programs.
- Operate and maintain specialised agricultural and mechanical equipment used in planting, irrigation, and harvesting.
- Assist with installation and calibration of monitoring and control systems.
- Maintain accurate records of tests, inputs, and production data.
- Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety and environmental management standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across farming and post-harvest operations.
Skills and Experience
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent qualification in agriculture, agritech, or related field, or at least three years of relevant industry experience.
- Practical knowledge of crop monitoring, sampling techniques, and data interpretation.
- Understanding of irrigation scheduling, nutrient management, and integrated pest control.
- Proficiency with agricultural machinery, field sensors, and basic data-logging systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or within a team.
- Current driver’s licence essential.
