About the Role:

We are seeking an Inpatient Psychiatry Registrar for a locum placement at a major regional referral and teaching hospital in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This contract runs from 3 August 2026 to 31 January 2027. You will join a hospital of more than 300 beds that serves as the principal referral centre for southern inland New South Wales and the wider Riverina region, gaining broad clinical exposure across a diverse inpatient mental health case mix within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

- Assess and manage acute and complex inpatient psychiatry presentations
- Provide clinical care across a broad range of mental health presentations
- Participate in ward rounds, case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Collaborate with senior medical staff, nursing and allied health teams
- Contribute to risk assessment, treatment planning and discharge coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

About You:

- AHPRA registered Medical Practitioner
- Currently practising at Registrar level in Psychiatry
- Confident managing a broad range of acute inpatient mental health presentations
- Works effectively both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Eligible to work in Australia
