About The Company
Our client is Australia's pioneering online thoroughbred auction platform. Launched in Sydney in 2014, this 100% Australian owned and independent business conducts weekly auctions across Australia and New Zealand, plus a separate US site. This is a growing business ready for its next stage, they are searching for a seasoned operator to lead the next chapter.
About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to take charge of the business day to day and scale an already growing business to its next level. With full operational authority, you'll make the calls and own the results while the Founder develops and grows other areas of the business.
Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Taking the existing team and lifting its performance from day one
- Hiring and leading the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager and Operations Manager, along with the wider team
- Launching new revenue streams, including advertising sales,
a vendor rewards scheme and bonus schemes
- Putting lasting team structure, KPIs and accountability in place
- Driving the next stage of growth across the business
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A history of personally building and running sales, marketing and operations teams, as this role is not suited to a learn-on-the-job hire
- Real numbers to back up the new revenue lines you have launched
- A decisive nature and a habit of owning outcomes
- A highly organised approach and a reputation for getting things done
- Strong operator credentials, with industry experience not required
- A real estate background would be well regarded
