About the role
As a Graduate EIA Advisor, you will be a member of a small and dynamic team at Aestra, providing input into a broad range of activities in collaboration with the Director of EIA and other Aestra staff.
This role is not field-based; however, some limited field work may be possible from time to time depending on your qualifications and experience.
While based in Canberra, the team primarily works remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Support the preparation of strategic advice to clients, including government and industry sectors.
- Utilise critical thinking, judgement and problem-solving skills to support the development and delivery of polished, accurate products for clients, including but not limited to, preparation of regulatory submissions, environmental impact assessment reports, regulatory options papers, and government briefings.
- Apply strong attention to detail when reviewing information, preparing work and completing tasks, identifying errors or inconsistencies and ensuring accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of environmental impact assessment including analysis of impacts to setting and heritage values using statutory criteria under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) and State legislation as required.
- Undertake and support business development activities and completion of administrative tasks as required including preparation of responses to requests for quotation.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in a field related to environmental work (e.g., Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Ecology or a related field).
- Australian Citizenship and ability to hold a Baseline Security Clearance.
- Aptitude and curiosity to learn quickly, think critically, communicate effectively, solve problems and build strong relationships.
- Team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
- Organised with a willingness to learn.
- Take pride in your work, have an eye for detail, and have excellent communication skills.
