About the role

As Senior First Nations Program Lead, you will lead the development and delivery of programs and initiatives that respond to the needs and priorities of the First Nations arts and cultural sector.

You will work closely with First Nations communities, artists, organisations, industry and government stakeholders to develop culturally appropriate approaches, build partnerships and deliver outcomes aligned with government priorities and Create NSW objectives.

You will:

- Develop, manage and administer contemporary, community-centred programs, strategies and initiatives that observe First Nations cultural protocols.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with government, industry, community organisations and the First Nations arts and cultural sector.
- Provide cultural advice to support the development, implementation and review of policies, programs and practices across the division.
- Apply funding policies and procedures to support equitable access to funding and strengthen program capability.
- Identify opportunities to promote and advocate for the First Nations arts and cultural sector and strengthen outcomes for First Nations communities.
- Lead post-program reviews and evaluation activities to assess effectiveness, outcomes, budget performance and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, correspondence, briefings and business cases relating to First Nations programs.
- Support governance, assurance and risk management processes, identifying risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Manage multiple program activities, timelines, stakeholders and resources to deliver quality outcomes within agreed time and budget constraints.

About You

You will bring experience in developing and implementing First Nations cultural strategies, programs or initiatives,



together with an understanding of cultural protocols and community-led approaches.

You will be an experienced program and stakeholder manager who can build trusted relationships across government, industry and community. You will be confident providing advice, influencing stakeholders and bringing people together around shared objectives.

You will also have:

- Strong program and project management experience, including managing competing priorities, timelines, budgets and risks.
- Experience developing partnerships and working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare briefings, reports, submissions and business cases.
- Experience monitoring, evaluating and improving programs and services.
- The ability to identify opportunities, solve problems and provide practical, culturally informed advice.
- A commitment to supporting equitable outcomes for the First Nations arts and cultural sector.

Essential Requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant skilled experience.
