Digital Innovation Engineer
Are you passionate about solving complex problems with data, technology and automation? Do you enjoy turning ideas into practical solutions that improve business performance and create real-world impact? We're looking for a Digital Innovation Engineer to help drive digital transformation and innovation across Endeavour Energy.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, technology, analytics and business improvement. You will identify operational and business challenges, develop innovative digital solutions, and help deliver smarter ways of working that improve decision-making, productivity, safety and customer outcomes.
About the Role
As a Digital Innovation Engineer, you will analyse operational, engineering and business processes to uncover inefficiencies, data gaps and opportunities for improvement. You will design, build and implement end-to-end digital solutions that leverage data, analytics, automation and emerging technologies to solve complex business problems.
Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions that deliver measurable value. You will play a critical role in advancing Endeavour Energy's digital capabilities through the application of data analytics, AI, automation, digital engineering and innovative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse operational, engineering and business processes to identify inefficiencies, data gaps and system limitations and translate these into clearly defined technical problem statements.
- Design and implement end-to-end digital solutions including data ingestion, transformation, analytics, automation and visualisation.
- Build and maintain dashboards,
analytics tools and decision-support solutions that provide actionable insights into operational performance, safety and productivity.
- Develop automation solutions that eliminate manual processes, improve data quality and increase reliability and scalability of business workflows.
- Apply advanced analytics, digital engineering techniques and emerging technologies including AI/ML, Digital Twins, robotics and automation to solve real-world engineering and operational challenges.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements, validate assumptions using data and deliver solutions that create measurable business value.
- Continuously evaluate and improve digital solutions by analysing performance, user feedback and system behaviour.
- Drive capability uplift across the organisation by developing reusable tools, patterns and standards for digital and analytics solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and assess opportunities for practical application within the business.
About You
You are naturally curious, analytical and innovative, with a passion for solving problems and improving business outcomes through technology. You enjoy taking ownership of challenges, working independently and creating solutions that make a meaningful impact.
You thrive in environments where problems are not always clearly defined and where success requires creativity, initiative and solid stakeholder engagement. You can balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical delivery, translating complex business needs into practical digital solutions.
You'll also demonstrate:
- The ability to think outside the box and challenge conventional approaches to problem-solving, identifying innovative and practical solutions to complex business challenges.
- Strong resourcefulness and initiative, with the ability to independently design, build and implement solutions while overcoming obstacles with minimal direction.
- The capability to work effectively in an environment that is less structured, fast-moving and continually evolving, demonstrating adaptability, autonomy and sound judgement.
- Strong systems-thinking and analytical skills, enabling you to diagnose ambiguous problems and determine the most appropriate technical and analytical approaches.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and drive change through evidence-based recommendations.
- The ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a matrixed environment.
- A passion for learning, researching and applying emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications & Licences
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline.
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
Experience
- 3 to 10 years' experience in a similar professional role.
- Experience identifying complex business or operational problems and designing technology-enabled solutions.
- Experience delivering analytics, automation or digital transformation initiatives from concept through to implementation.
