About the role

As a Domestic Care Assistant, you'll help older people continue living independently, safely and comfortably in their own homes.

This role is about more than keeping a home clean and tidy. It's about building genuine connections, supporting wellbeing, and helping our clients maintain their independence and quality of life.

You'll spend your days visiting clients in their homes, providing practical household assistance, offering companionship and social support, and being a friendly, familiar face they can rely on.

Key responsibilities:

- Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, vacuuming, mopping and dusting as outlined in their care plan

- Providing social support and companionship

- Ensuring clients' homes remain safe, hygienic and supportive of their independence





- Recognising and responding to changes in a client's condition, wellbeing or circumstances, and documenting and communicating this information appropriately

- Building positive and respectful relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries

What you'll bring:

You might already have experience in domestic assistance, cleaning, aged care or community services. Or perhaps you're someone who enjoys helping others, takes pride in a job well done and understands the difference a little kindness can make.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Experience performing domestic duties to a high standard

- A genuine passion for supporting older people and enhancing their quality of life

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of clients

- An understanding of, and commitment to, maintaining professional boundaries

- The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively

- A resilient, patient and calm approach when supporting clients

- A current driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle for travel between client visits (kilometre reimbursement provided)

- An understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, CALD communities, Veterans, people living with disability, mental health concerns, LGBTI+ communities and people experiencing homelessness (desirable)
