Our client is a specialist Sydney boutique acting in commercial disputes, restructuring and insolvency, led by partners from global and top-tier firms.

They are looking for a Senior Associate with 5+ PAE to run complex matters end to end, from urgent interlocutory applications through to mediation and settlement, working directly with the partners and supervising a team of junior lawyers and support staff.

Salary Range and Features in this Role:

• $170K to $200K + super
• A pathway to Special Counsel or partnership

About the role

A mix of complex commercial disputes and contentious insolvency and restructuring work, with end to end carriage of your own files.

• Run disputes from start to finish, including court proceedings, urgent interlocutory applications, mediations and settlement negotiations
• Act in commercial disputes, insolvency and restructuring disputes, asset recovery, and shareholder, director and corporate disputes
• Handle cross-border disputes and enforcement
• Draft pleadings, advices, evidence, submissions and briefs to counsel
• Set litigation strategy and manage timetables and limitation risk
• Work with clients,



counsel and experts
• Supervise and train Associates, Graduates, Paralegals and Clerks, including articles and training
• Support business development

Requirements for the position:

• 5+ years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation, dispute resolution or contentious insolvency
• Hands-on litigation experience with strong drafting and strategic skills
• A current Australian practising certificate
• Australian work rights, as our client cannot offer visa sponsorship now or in the future
• Responsible use of AI and legal technology
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers
